...A Thankful Heart...

This Thanksgiving as I reflect back on my year - my first year of my photography business - I can't help but be extremely grateful for my amazing clients, my supportive friends & family who have believed in me from the very beginning, and my awesome "blog stalkers"! I have had such unbelievable success this first year, far beyond anything I could have imagined. This year hasn't been easy, in fact, it's been quite stressful. But I wouldn't trade it for anything & it has taught me so much about my business, photography, and more importantly about myself. So THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I am grateful for ALL of you!

Yesterday, a fellow photographer fell victim to a horrible theft. She left her car for a mere 5 minutes, even locked the car, to come back and see that all her equipment was GONE. Estimated around $20,000 worth of photography equipment, none of it was insured.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help her get back on her feet so she can provide for her family. My awesome friend Dustin Izatt has started a fund for her. Please read his blog post here for more information. You can donate as little as $1, please help anyway you can!

This is one of my very favorite shoots I've done in a long while.. Jenna has such an awesome personality & it shows through her eyes. She is super photogenic & didn't need too much direction from me to make her senior portraits stunning. I was way excited she brought along a way cool bike that we played around with in a bunch of shots. Jenna--look how beautiful you are girl! I hope you love them as much as I do :]

I've been slammed this week, not to mention dealing with a sickness so I'm sorry this has taken a bit longer than usual! Please forgive me everyone :]

We did this shoot in almost the worst part of an incredibly sunny day but it was the only possibility since Annelie had to catch a flight home to Chicago the same afternoon. The sun was so harsh, but we dealt with what we were given..

Many of you will recognize this, the SLC temple was a request of Annelie's. I think living so close we almost take this place for granted. What a beautiful place.

...Micah- What a stud...

I love this shoot, just because it was SO spur of the moment & quick, yet turned out better than I had hoped! I mainly did this shoot for my Mother's Christmas gift & was only aiming to get a great headshot of my littlest brother Micah. We turned out going to a sweet place by my parent's house & got some really great shots of Micah. On this shoot, I really came to realize how much Micah really has grown up in the past year (especially the last few months) it's incredible. It's crazy how fast life passes by when you're not looking.. I love you bro!! I hope you guys enjoy these shots... :]
